Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Evgeny Sokov, a private individual based in the European Union who operates Wordeo ("we", "us"). By using the Wordeo app you accept them. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Wordeo is an app for learning vocabulary and practising a foreign language. Its content is made for learning. It is not a professional translation, legal, medical or other expert service.
2. Who can use Wordeo
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are below the age of digital consent in your country (up to 16 in the EEA), you need the consent of a parent or guardian.
3. Your account
You sign in with a Google, Apple, Microsoft or X account and are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or on the account deletion page.
4. AI-generated content
Parts of Wordeo's learning content, including dictionary entries, example sentences, exercises, translations and conversation practice, are generated with the help of AI language models. We review this content, but not every item, and it may contain mistakes. Do not rely on it where accuracy matters, such as official, legal or medical translations. If you find an error, please tell us at support@wordeo.app.
5. Your content
Words and text you add stay yours. You allow us to process them only as needed to provide the service. Do not submit content that is unlawful or that contains other people's personal data.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Wordeo. In particular, do not try to get around usage limits or payments, extract content in bulk by automated means, interfere with the service or its security, or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows it.
7. Subscriptions and purchases
- Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play and are processed by Apple or Google under their terms. Prices are shown in the store before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can manage and cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Deleting the app or your Wordeo account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, including any right of withdrawal you have under the law of your country.
8. Ads
The free version of Wordeo shows ads. How advertising uses data is described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Third-party content and licences
- Some dictionary data (translations, grammatical gender, plural forms) comes from Wiktionary, extracted via Kaikki.org / Wiktextract. It is used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence and has been filtered and reformatted by Wordeo. That data remains available to you under the same licence.
- Video and audio clips from other authors are used under their licences (such as Creative Commons) or with their permission, and are credited in each lesson.
- Some videos play through the YouTube embedded player. By watching them you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
- The app includes open-source software. Its licences are listed in the app under Profile → About & legal → Licences.
Everything else in Wordeo, including the app, its design and our own learning content, belongs to us. You may use it only through the app, for your personal learning.
10. Changes and availability
We keep improving Wordeo and may change, add or remove features. We will not remove features you have paid for during a paid period without a proportionate refund or other remedy required by law. We may update these terms; if a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
11. Warranty and liability
Wordeo is provided as it is and as available. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights that the law of your country gives you, including the right to a service that conforms to the contract, and nothing in these terms limits them.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on learning content against the advice in section 4, to the extent the law allows. We do not limit liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or where such a limitation is not permitted by law.
12. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Wordeo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after a warning where reasonable.
13. App Store
If you downloaded Wordeo from Apple's App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. You must comply with third-party terms applicable to your use of the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the EU Member State in which Wordeo's operator resides. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence and may bring claims before its courts.
